Various Development Projects to Come Up In Arambagh Hooghly

  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth Rs 7,200 Crore in Arambagh, Hooghly, and West Bengal. 
  • The projects are related to sectors like rail, ports, oil pipelines, LPG supply, and wastewater treatment. 
  • The Prime Minister highlighted the rapid growth of 21st-century India and the resolution of making India Viksit by 2047. 
  • He emphasized the importance of empowering youth, women, farmers, and the poor. 
  • The Prime Minister highlighted the recent 25 Crore people coming out of poverty, indicating the correctness of the government’s direction, policies, and decisions. 
  • The Prime Minister announced a budget allocation worth over Rs 13,000 crores for the development of railways in West Bengal, three times that of pre-2014. 
  • The government prioritizes the electrification of rail lines, the upgrade of passenger facilities, and the redevelopment of railway stations. 
  • The Prime Minister also announced the inauguration of three projects related to wastewater treatment and sewerage in West Bengal, funded by the World Bank. 
  • The projects will boost the productivity of the port substantially by helping in faster and safer cargo handling and evacuation.
