SPVs Formed For Projects in Maharashtra and UP By REC Power

  • RECPDCL, a subsidiary of REC Limited, has handed over two project-specific Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) for two power transmission projects. 
  • The first project, Kallam Transco Limited, was for the Western Region Network Expansion Scheme in the Kallam area of Maharashtra, an Interstate Transmission Project. The successful bidder is M/s Indigrid 2 Limited & Indigrid 1 Limited (Consortium). 
  • The second project, Jalpura Khurja Power Transmission Limited, was for the construction of 400/220 kV, 2×500 MVA GIS substation Metro Depot (Greater Noida) with associated lines and 400/220 kV, 2×500 MVA GIS substation Jalpura, an Intra-state project of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The successful bidder is M/s The Tata Power Company Limited. 
  • RECPDCL was the Bid Process Coordinator for both projects, executed through tariff-based bidding. 
  • RECPDCL has been providing knowledge-based consultancy and expert project implementation services to over 50 State power distribution companies and Power Departments of States. 
  • REC Ltd. is a ‘Maharatna’ Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, registered with RBI as a Non-Banking Finance Company (NBFC), and Infrastructure Financing Company (IFC).
