Spectrum Auction Process Initiated By Dot

  • The Department of Telecom (DoT) has initiated a Spectrum Auction to enhance existing telecom services and maintain continuity. 
  • The auction includes all available spectrum in various bands including 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2500 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz. 
  • The auction process is a Simultaneous Multiple Round Ascending (SMRA) e-auction. 
  • The cumulative reserve price of the 10523.15 MHz spectrum is Rs. 96317.65 Crores. 
  • The spectrum will be assigned for 20 years, with successful bidders allowed to make payments in 20 equal annual installments. 
  • The spectrum acquired can be surrendered after a minimum of ten years. 
  • No Spectrum Usage Charges (SUC) will be charged for the spectrum acquired. 
  • Successful bidders are not required to submit a Financial Bank Guarantee (FBG) and Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG).
