Projects worth Rs. 100,000 Cr Inaugurated By Pm

  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 112 National Highway projects worth about Rs. One Lakh Crore at Guru Gram, Haryana. 
  • The projects, worth over Rs. 10 lakh crore, have been either dedicated to the nation or foundation stone laid in less than three months of 2024. 
  • The Prime Minister emphasized the transformative impact of infrastructure development, highlighting the shift from problems to possibilities. 
  • The projects include development projects from Karnataka, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh in the South, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana-related development works in the North, Bengal, and Bihar in the East, and major projects from Maharashtra, Punjab, and Rajasthan in the West. 
  • The projects include an increase of 540 kilometers in Amritsar Bhatinda Jamnagar Corridor and the development of the Bengaluru Ring Road. 
  • The Prime Minister praised the Haryana government’s efforts in ensuring the timely completion of infrastructure projects. 
  • The Prime Minister reiterated his government’s holistic vision for infrastructure development in the Delhi-NCR region, focusing on the timely completion of major projects like the Dwarka Expressway, Peripheral Expressways, and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.

 

Prime Minister Modi’s Infrastructure Development and Poverty Alleviation 

 

  • Prime Minister Modi highlighted the link between infrastructure development and poverty alleviation, highlighting the role of improved roads and digital connectivity in rural areas.
  • He noted that digital infrastructure and access to essential services have helped 25 crore Indians out of poverty in the last decade. 
  • He emphasized the government’s commitment to accelerating infrastructure development across India, which strengthens the economy and creates numerous employment opportunities, especially for the youth. 
  • He mentioned the completion of long pending projects like the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and Dwarka Expressway, which were delayed for 20 years. 
  • He emphasized the focus on creating a 9,000 KM high-speed corridor, with 4 thousand kilometers already constructed. 
  • He also announced that Metro reached 21 cities, a significant increase from 5 cities in 2014. 
  • Other major projects inaugurated by Modi included the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II)- Package 3 from Nangloi – Najafgarh Road to Sector 24 Dwarka section in Delhi, Lucknow Ring Road developed in Uttar Pradesh, Anandapuram – Pendurthi – Anakapalli section of NH16 in Andhra Pradesh, Kiratpur to Nerchowk section of NH-21 in Himachal Pradesh, and Dobaspet – Heskote section in Karnataka.
