Prime Minister Narendra Modi Foundations NHPC’s 300 MW Solar Power Plant in Bikaner, Rajasthan

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the 300 MW Solar Power Plant in Bikaner, Rajasthan, on February 16, 2024. 
  • The project, set up by NHPC Limited, is part of India’s CPSU Scheme, Phase-II, Tranche-III, with a total investment of over Rs. 1,732 crores. 
  • The project, equipped with advanced technology, aligns with the Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiative and aims to produce around 750 million units of green power annually. 
  • The project is scheduled for commissioning by September 2024, with potential employment opportunities for approximately 600 individuals during the project phase and 100 personnel during the Operations & Maintenance phase. 
  • The Rajasthan government will also contribute to the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Development Fund for infrastructure development. 
  • NHPC Limited, India’s leading hydropower company, has a total installed capacity of 7097.2 MW of Renewable Energy.
