NTPC and MAHAGENCO to Develop RE Parks

  • NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has signed a Joint Venture Agreement with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO) for the development of Renewable Energy Parks in Maharashtra. 
  • The joint venture will develop GW-scale renewable energy parks and undertake projects in a phased manner. 
  • The agreement aligns with NTPC’s green energy objectives and is a step towards India’s energy transition. 
  • NTPC, India’s largest integrated power utility, has a total installed capacity of approximately 74 GW. 
  • NGEL will take up Renewable Energy Parks and Projects, including businesses in Green Hydrogen, Energy Storage Technologies, and Round-the-Clock renewable energy.
