Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Inaugurated

  • By the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi.
  • The newly built Ayodhya Airport has been named Maharishi Valmiki International Airport.
  • Named after the author of Ramayana.

Maharishi Valmiki International Airport:

  • In the first phase, it can handle 10 lakh passengers annually and after the second phase, 60 lakh.
  • Phase 1 cost of more than Rs 1450 crore.
  • Area of 6500 sqm.
  • The Terminal Building resembles the temple architecture of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir of Ayodhya.
  • Interiors decorated with local art, paintings & murals depicting the life of Shri Ram.
  • It is equipped with an insulated roofing system, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, landscaping with fountains, a water treatment plant, a sewage treatment plant, solar power plant.
  • To meet GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) – 5-star ratings.
