Madhuband Washery Starts Operation

  • Operated by Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), under the Ministry of Coal.
  • At the state-of-the-art 5.0 MTPA Madhuband Washery, Dhanbad district, Jharkhand.
  • It was formally inaugurated by the Union Minister of Coal, Mines, and Parliamentary Affairs Mr Pralhad Joshi.
  • Extensive Load Tests, Trial Runs and Performance Guarantee Tests (PGT) have been conducted for operational efficacy.

About the Washery:

  • It is one of the largest Coking Coal Washeries in India.
  • It will be supplying more washed coking coal to the steel sector.
  • It will reduce the outflow of foreign exchange through imports of coking coal.
  • It reflects BCCL’s consistent effort towards import substitution of coking coal in India.
  • Increasing the supply of indigenous washed coking coal at competitive prices, propels the growth of the economy.
  • It helps in the utilization of our limited coking coal reserves through advanced washing processes.
