INS Sandhayak Commissioned into Indian Navy

  • INS Sandhayak, the first Survey Vessel Large ship, was commissioned into the Indian Navy by Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh.

  • The Raksha Mantri compared the development of a country to the development of a child, comparing it to a child’s development from dependency to independence.
  • He expressed hope that INS Sandhayak will gather information about the oceans to protect the country and others. 
  • The Raksha Mantri emphasized India’s progress in security post-independence, highlighting the Indian Ocean as a global trade hotspot.
  • He pledged that maritime piracy and smuggling would not be tolerated, describing it as a pledge of ‘New India’.
