INS Kadmatt at Yokosuka, Japan

  • The Naval ship is on a Long Range Operational Deployment to the North Pacific Ocean.
  • It entered Yokosuka, Japan on Dec 02, 2023, for an Operational Turnaround.
  • It will undergo onboard visits including professional interactions and community welfare activities.
  • Interactions with the Japan Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) will include cross-ship visits, professional exchange of ideas, a Joint Yoga Camp, and coordination meetings for the Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX).
  • The ship will be celebrating Navy Day on 04 Dec 2023 in the presence of the Indian diaspora in Japan.
  • Recently, INS Kadmatt has also undertaken to fuel with JMSDF Fast Combat Support Ship, JS Towada on 28 Nov 2023, off Okinawa, under Reciprocal Provisioning of Supply and Services (RPSS) signed between both navies.
  • It is aimed at further bolstering maritime cooperation between India and Japan for the Indo-Pacific.
  • INS Kadmatt is an indigenously designed and built Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvette, equipped with a state-of-the-art AS weapon suite.
