India-U.S. Homeland Security Dialogue at Delhi

  • The India-U.S. Senior Officials’ Homeland Security Dialogue (HSD) was held in New Delhi. 
  • The dialogue reviewed ongoing cooperation in counter-terrorism and security domains. 
  • Steps were discussed to strengthen bilateral efforts against terrorism, violent extremism, drug trafficking, organized crime, and transportation security. 
  • The co-chairs reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen people-to-people ties, including safe migration, countering illegal migration, human trafficking, money laundering, cyber-crimes, and misuse of the cyber domain. 
  • The dialogue concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation on law enforcement training between the U.S. Federal Law Enforcement Training Centre and India’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy. 
  • The next round of the HSD will be held in Washington D.C. at a mutually convenient date.
