Important Agreement Signed In Tripura to Bring Peace

  • The tripartite agreement was signed in New Delhi by the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, between the Government of India, Tripura, and The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA). 
  • The agreement aims to resolve all issues of the indigenous people of Tripura related to history, land and political rights, economic development, identity, culture, and language. 
  • The agreement is a historic day for Tripura, as it honors history, makes amends, and accepts today’s realities. 
  • Tripura will be a key partner in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat and will move forward as Viksit Tripura. 
  • The Modi government has signed 11 significant agreements in the last five years to bring peace and prosperity to the Northeast. 
  • The agreement has led to the surrender of around 10,000 people to the mainstream, creating an environment of development. 
  • The agreement also includes the formation of a Joint Working Group/Committee to work out and implement the mutually agreed points on all issues. 
  • Stakeholders are advised to refrain from protesting or agitating to maintain a conducive atmosphere for implementing the pact.
