iCreate, Microsoft, and MeitY Sign MoU

  • The International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology (iCreate) and Microsoft have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost AI startups in India. 
  • The MoU aligns with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision to catalyze start-ups in both big cities and smaller towns. 
  • Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Electronics and Information Technology, and Jal Shakti, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, stated that the partnership will support and transform AI start-ups in both big cities and smaller towns. 
  • The iMPEL-AI program, launched by Microsoft and iCreate, will screen 1100 AI innovators across India to become AI Most Valuable Players (MVPs). 
  • The program will select and scale 100 start-ups across India to build with Azure OpenAI, with the top 25 receiving go-to-market support from Microsoft’s Global Network. 
  • Microsoft will also provide AI skilling opportunities to 11,000 innovators, start-ups, and young Indians through Microsoft’s Learning Management System. 
  • The iMPEL-AI program aims to nurture a dynamic AI ecosystem in India and enable AI innovators and entrepreneurs to bridge the nation’s AI skill gap.
