Ethanol 100 Launched In India by Government

  • Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, launched ETHANOL 100, a revolutionary automotive fuel, at Indian Oil Retail Outlet M/s. Irwin Road Service Station. 
  • Customers can now avail ETHANOL 100 at select 183 retail outlets across five states – Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, and Tamil Nadu. 
  • The launch was inspired by the Prime Minister’s vision to transform Annadatas into Urjadatas. 
  • Puri emphasized the fuel’s potential to transform the transportation sector and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. 
  • The launch reflects the government’s commitment to reducing import dependency, conserving foreign exchange, and boosting the agriculture sector. 
  • Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have been at the forefront of this endeavor, introducing various blends of Ethanol with Petrol across the country. 
  • Shri Jain, Secretary MoPNG, praised the initiative for its shift towards sustainable technologies and commitment to decarbonization. 
  • Shri Vaidya, Chairman of Indian Oil, highlighted India’s status as one of the few countries to have ETHANOL 100 fuel, highlighting its potential as a cleaner, greener alternative to gasoline.
