Dot and NTPRIT Conduct Workshop for 220+ Sanchar Mitras

  • The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and National Telecommunications Institute, Ghaziabad (NTIPRIT) conducted an Awareness Workshop for Sanchar Mitras on May 28, 2024. 
  • The Sanchar Mitra program aims to raise awareness about citizen-centric services of the Department and the dangers of cyber fraud. 
  • Over 250 Sanchar Mitras, student volunteers were selected from prestigious educational institutions housing 100 5G Use Case Labs across India. 
  • The workshop aimed to empower citizens about the Department’s citizen-centric services and the dangers of cyber fraud. 
  • The role of Sanchar Mitras is multi-fold, including raising awareness of various telecom-related citizen-centric services, promoting digital literacy, and educating on the dangers of cyber fraud. 
  • The workshop acted as an induction program, enhancing the capacity/understanding and effectiveness of volunteers. 
  • The Sanchar Mitra program aims to enhance mobile users’ security, clarify radiation myths, raise awareness about DoT’s initiatives, and prevent mobile-related fraud. 
  • The role of Sanchar Mitras includes raising awareness of broad citizen-centric services, coordinating with field offices and state police, collecting data, and acting as a feedback mechanism.
