DFCC for Tejas Aircraft Successfully Tested

  • The Digital Fly by Wire Flight Control Computer (DFCC) was integrated into the prototype LSP7 and successfully flown on 19th February 2024.
  • Developed by the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bengaluru, the DFCC features a Quadraplex Power PC-based Processor, high-speed autonomous state machine-based I/O controller, enhanced computational throughput, and complex onboard software. 
  • The flight controls were found satisfactory, with the maiden flight piloted by Wg Cdr Siddarth Singh KMJ of the National Flight Test Centre. 
  • The improved version of the aircraft, Tejas MK1A, includes an advanced mission computer, high-performance DFCC Mk1A, Smart Multi-Function Displays, Advanced Electronically Scanned Array Radar, Advanced Self-protection Jammer, and Electronic Warfare Suit.
  • The successful flight test boosts confidence towards the delivery of Tejas MK1A to IAF.
