Bharat Tex 2024 Inaugurated

  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurates Bharat Tex 2024, one of the largest global textile events in India. 
  • The event is held in two of India’s largest exhibition centers, Bharat Mandapam and Yasho Bhoomi. 
  • Over 3000 exhibitors and traders from around 100 countries are present, with around 40,000 visitors. 
  • The event connects the history of Indian tradition with modern talent, technology with traditions, and style/sustainability/scale/skill. 
  • The Prime Minister emphasizes the importance of understanding India’s textile sector and the challenges and aspirations of the sector. 
  • The government is supporting cotton farmers and buying cotton from them, with Kasturi Cotton being a significant step towards creating India’s brand value globally. 
  • The Prime Minister also discusses measures for the Jute and silk sector and new sectors like technical textiles. 
  • The government plans to create seven PM MITRA Parks in various states, emphasizing the creation of opportunities for the entire textile sector. 
  • The expo showcases the entire value chain of the textile industry on a global platform, reaffirming India’s position as a global textile powerhouse. 
  • The textile ministry has formed a new textile advisory group to create end-to-end connectivity for the cotton and man-made fibre industry.
