Arunachal Pradesh Statehood Day

  • Historically, the region was under the control of Tibetian and Assamese rulers.
  • It was known as the North-East Frontier Agency under the British Government in India. 
  • On 20 January 1972, it became a Union Territory and was renamed Arunachal Pradesh
  • On 20 February 1987, it became a State.
