1st Blue Talks Related To Ocean Management Hosted By India

  • The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) hosted the first ‘Blue Talks’ meeting on Ocean Health and Governance in New Delhi. 
  • The meeting was co-chaired by the Secretary, MoES Dr. M. Ravichandran, and the Ambassador of France to India, Mr Thierry Mathou, and Costa Rica Chargée d’affaires, Ms. Sofia Salas Monge. 
  • Over 50 participants from government, academia, and research institutes attended the high-level deliberations. 
  • The meeting was a precursor to the upcoming High-Level Event on Ocean Action (HLEOA) event ‘Immersed in Change’ in San Jose, Costa Rica. 
  • The meeting aimed to exchange good practices, seek recommendations, reflect on UNOC3, and seek specific implementation actions to address ocean health concerns. 
  • The meeting was a platform to showcase India’s commitment to UNOC3 2025 and its role in ocean science and maritime development.
